Lubuntu vs Xubuntu, which one is faster?

One way to make your Ubuntu run faster is to use lightweight desktop environment and lightweight applications.

Because more mature and feature-rich desktop systems typically provide more comprehensive set of configuration tools, while consuming more memory and taking longer to start and normal work.

Lubuntu and Xubuntu are alternative distributions of Ubuntu, both were designed to be lightweight distribution and can work good in computer with just 256 MB of RAM, based of LXDE and XFCE Desktop Environment respectively. Performance on netbook and alternatively slow computer is good and fast even in older computer. Both desktop environment are provide useful and adequate tools to work in everyday use without having you to resort manual editing system configurations file.

Requirements

Lubuntu need minimum 50-60 MB RAM to run and recommend 256 MB for optimal run.

Xubuntu need minimal 192 MB RAM to run and recommend 512 MB for optimal run.

Xubuntu is faster than Gnom/Unity desktop environment, and Lubuntu is faster than Xubuntu, compared with Gnome, XFCE, & KDE, and found that LXDE is the lightest and fastest of them all.
